How much disk space BLACKWOOD needs

30GB is the figure on the Steam store page. Two things are worth separating here, because they get run together constantly:

• Disk space asked for: 30GB. This is the number the store listing carries, entered before release. It describes how much room the game asks you to have free.
• Actual download size: not published. Nobody has measured what Steam actually transfers, or what the install occupies once it is on disk. As of 16 September 2026 there is no published number for either.

So when you see "30GB" quoted for BLACKWOOD, that is the store-page estimate, not a download measurement. The two can differ, and a pre-release listing can be revised.

For scale, comparable action titles frequently ask for 60–100GB, which puts 30GB on the small side. That comparison is general industry context rather than an official statement about this game.

Why the SSD line matters

The storage row does not say "SSD recommended". The minimum column says the game needs an SSD, and the recommended column raises that to an NVMe SSD. Taken at face value, that makes the drive a pass/fail item rather than a nice-to-have: a machine still running on a mechanical hard drive does not meet the official minimum, no matter how strong its CPU or GPU is.

The usual reason engines make this a hard requirement — textures and scene data streamed off the drive while you play, where the seek latency of a mechanical disk shows up as blurry textures, hitching or stalled loads — is general industry background. AttritoM7 Productions has not published an explanation for BLACKWOOD specifically, so treat that as context for why the line exists, not as an official statement about this game.

What kind of PC these specs describe

The three minimum GPUs — GTX 1650 (2019), RX 570 (2017) and Arc A380 (2022) — sit in the same entry-level 1080p bracket in third-party benchmark databases, trading wins with each other rather than forming a ladder. That is roughly a five-year-old budget or entry-level gaming machine. The two minimum CPUs, Ryzen 5 3600 and Core i5-10400F, are same-generation mainstream six-cores and land close to each other, so neither is the "better" pick by any wide margin.

The recommended trio — RTX 3060, RX 6600XT, Arc A750 — are the $250–330 mainstream 1080p cards of roughly 2021 to 2023, and they also cluster together rather than forming a ladder. Ryzen 5 5600X and Core i5-12400F are likewise same-tier six-cores.

Read together, the bar is not a steep one: entry level means a card from about five years ago, and the recommended tier means a mid-range card from three or four years ago.
